On the weekend
SS48 is a high-energy weekend event, where you can expect to be surrounded by 60 other people who each is here for the same reason you are—everyone wants to make a real impact that reaches far beyond just them. There will be exciting startup vibes in the air as each one of you strives to fulfill your goals in a limited period of time that begins on a Friday evening.
Dinner, snacks, tea and coffee will be provided throughout the whole weekend, and there will be networking opportunities galore, never fear!
Prior to the commencement of the 48 hour run, we’ll kick things off with food and drinks, and introductions, followed by an esteemed keynote speaker to really get you inspired.
Once your team has formed up in person, you will be expected to decide and build upon your basic idea, come up with a basic model and deliver an initial pitch to the audience.
Friday night will end with drinks at a nearby bar, where you can continue getting to know your teammates while collaborating over a drink (or three).
Rise and shine! Saturday is the day where you are expected to make big advancements with your newly formed business. The ideas that you discussed the night before become real as you begin to validate your ideas, define your models, build your products and design your services. Successful established social entrepreneurs and professionals will also share their wealth of knowledge as they deliver presentations and provide mentoring advice directly to your team.
On Sunday, you will be working hard to have the essentials in place, including your business plan, marketing strategy and funding strategy. Depending on your enterprise, you may even have a basic prototype to demonstrate.
At the end of the day, your team will pitch your social enterprise to a panel of judges. You will be assessed on various criteria including creativity, the need for your enterprise in the community, the business model and the quality of your team’s work. This is your opportunity to impress the panel and your peers, showing everyone how far you and your team have come in just one weekend.
